Beyond Broadband... Toward Smart Rural Development

The Collectivit ingnieuse de la Pninsule acadienne (CIPA) inc., in cooperation with Industry Canadas Smart Communities Program and its partners in New Brunswick will hold a Smart Fair, hosted at the Delta Hotel in Fredericton, March 17-18, 2004. This event will give you the opportunity to witness the accomplishments of New Brunswicks smart community project, learn about the benefits of using information technologies, and the broadband services that will soon be available to the Provinces rural communities. Other projects developed in cooperation with various entrepreneurs, provincial and community associations and provincial departments will also be presented.

The Smart Fair will give you the opportunity to hear about the benefits and opportunities that broadband access can bring to your communities and associations. Through workshops, you will find out the importance of using the new information technologies and the various human and financial resources programs available. We will be pleased to tell you about CIPAs numerous services that could assist in launching a project based on information and communications technologies (ICT) development through the use of broadband services in your area.

You will also have the opportunity to meet our partners, as well as other entrepreneurs who have developed new applications through the use of information and communications technologies, and to see and appreciate the work accomplished in New Brunswicks rural communities projects applications that could also be implemented in your area.

Speakers and special guests will present their projects and share their vision of ICT development and the use of broadband in the development of rural communities in New Brunswick. A
program, as well as special rates available at the Delta Fredericton for this event are available in this section.
