Community access center day - open house 2004

(Paquetville � Monday, January 9, 2021) � Over 3,000 participants took part, once again, in New Brunswick�s Community Access Day. Over 200 Community Access Centers hosted an Open House on Saturday, January 24, 2004, despite the extreme cold.

The warm atmosphere of the various Community Access Centers and an entire array of activities prepared in view of CAC day attracted many. There certainly were activities for all interests and ages: tours, introduction to the services available, initiation to high-speed Internet, information regarding the use of a digitial camera, 2D & 3D presentations, exhibits by local artists, SME displays, etc. Coffee and snacks were served. .

Mrs Nancy Lainey-Th�riault, CIPA President, pointed out the excellent work being accomplished by the region�s various CACs. �Community Access Centers play a vital role in the smart community project�s efforts, as evidenced by the number of people who attend our Open House each year and who take advantage of the services offered in these Access Centers.� 

Many interesting prizes were offered as part of a provincial lottery. All proceeds will be distributed to local CACs.

The winners were: 1st prize : HP Computer � Winner: Samantha Brennan, Miramichi; 2nd
prize : Canon camera � Winner: Kevin G. Lavall�e, Moncton; 3rd prize : 9 Palm M500 Agendas � Carole Marin, Drummond; France S. Diotte, Dundee; Sylvina Brideau, Acadian Peninsula; Annick Charest, Moncton, Darlene Dobson, Dorchester; Tammy Olivier, Albert Vickers, Bathurst; Whitney Day, Enfield, NS and Shawn Keel, Hartland.

The winning tickets were drawn on February 6, 2021 by Madeleine Dub�, Minister of Education and Claude Marquis, Executive Director of Connect NB Branch�.
